Bugaboo signs
agreement for
fully managed SD-WAN

The company grew from 5 employees in 2000 to an organization of around 1,000 employees. An extremely modern global and mature infrastructure is also part of this impressive success.

Challenges in the international manufacturing industry

Bugaboo has a large number of locations worldwide, including the head office in Amsterdam and factories in China. We speak with Bert Groot-Hulze, Global ICT Manager at Bugaboo. “The speed of our global connections and the secure exchange of data with our offices abroad is crucial because Bugaboo has centralized the ICT from the head office in Amsterdam. It is my responsibility to ensure that important data ends up in the right place at lightning speed, in order for every colleague anywhere in the world to perform optimally, ” explains Bert. In addition, a lot of internal data is sensitive to competition, so state-of-the-art security is a must. This was an important requirement of our CISO. It took too much effort and money to keep the ever-increasing data exchanges manageable.

The solution

Bugaboo has signed an agreement with IPknowledge for a fully managed SD-WAN. IPknowledge and Bugaboo have a long-standing partnership. “We have always relied on IPknowledge engineers to work on the most valuable parts of our network infrastructure. They are network and technology independent and really understand how the performance of business applications and the mutual collaboration between people depend on the network, ”says Bert. This means, that the following is delivered to replace the existing MPLS and related network environment:

  • Internet lines at the lowest possible cost, because there is no longer a dependence on telecom companies
  • Worldwide private backbone.
  • Monitoring to keep a global view of the functioning of the network service. This is done 24/7 from the IPknowledge DPC, Digital Performance Center, in Amsterdam,
  • Simple remote VPN access for all users.
  • Replacing all firewalls.
  • WAN-Op technology for fast ERP response
  • A fully managed and secure global connectivity solution

Network as a Service

The IPknowledge OneWAN’s Network-as-a-Service concept provides lightning-fast and secure connections between the Bugaboo sites and users and 3rd party suppliers worldwide. The SD-WAN solution leverages redundant Internet access lines from multiple ISPs. In addition to significant cost savings and flexibility (agility), the key result for Bugaboo is peace of mind. Because, IPknowledge’s OneWAN is delivered at a fixed, predictable cost and you will sleep as peacefully and carefree as a baby.
